Documentary: SHAN, Burma

The release date of our new documentary film, 'SHAN, Burma', has been delayed due to a problem on our last few shooting days in Burma which including the capture of our cameraman, director and producer and the confiscation of a months worth of film and equipment by the Government Junta.

However the situation has been partly sorted with the recent release of our captured crew. They are now back with the SHAN State Army and anticipate the necessary reshoot to be complete by the end of May, provided no further difficulties are encountered.
From this we are now anticipating the release to be around October or November of this year.
About the Production
Using film that has been captured over the past eight years and in full production over the past two years, the film is certainly going to lead the way for next years documentary lineup and standards.
Shot entirely in Burma and alongside of the Shan State Army (SSA), one of the last remaining ethnic groups still battling the government regime, this film will take the viewer inside a world never seen before. From the original obstacles of getting in, hiding from government patrols, to the SSAs daily life of hiding and running, dry season battles and the civilian village life that follows every step.
Shot on 16mm film and professional HD, this film will not only be the highest quality and most satisfying cinematographic display of both beauty and raw truth to come out of Asia in 2007, in the end 'SHAN, Burma' will have well overshot a budget of 2 million dollars, making it the the most expensive documentary film ever made on the Burmese people.
